Consumer Queen
Family
In my times away from this blog, I've had a little bit more time to spend with family - not much, but a little bit more time. And I've realized how thankful I am for there support, there laughter, and most of all their love. Especially during the holidays, I get even closer to them! I must say I struck the Jackpot this holiday - and enjoyed everything. But with each present I unwrapped my love grew stronger for my family - not because of what they gave me; but the thought, the effort, even down to the wrapping - and to see how much they cared about me. Then when they would open their presents, I just loved to see their faces light up, it made me glow! I'll leave you with one of my favorite sayings
"When you complain that no one cares, when you pray at night you say you have no one to pray for, when you think about tomorrow you say you have no one to have lunch with - why do you say these things, you have FAMILY!"

I'm Back!
Hello Again!
I know it has been so long since I last posted! I hope everyone had a wonderful, joyous, and thankful holiday season! It’s almost the New Year which holds so much! New freebies, New coupons, and New starts for The Free Central! That’s right - sometime in 2009 you’re going to see some changes come to The Free Central (and we hope you enjoy them!). Anyway - I’ll still be posting freebies, deals, coupons, and my favorite frugal tips and articles - but I’m also going to start doing reviews! That’s right - I recently signed up for a site called Review Stream where you can post your reviews on products you have. I’m also looking into some other blog/review sites - so please leave a comment if you know of any good ones! Anyways - I recently have been blog reading like crazy and have compiled a list of my favorite blogs out there!

So Sorry!
So sorry to have been MIA lately - but with the holidays coming up I've been and am going to be super busy! So, I'm going to be taking a short break until the 5th of January! I know that seems like it's a long time but it's only about 2 weeks. If I do get a chance to post, I will - but if I can't well you can check my blogroll and read all of my favorite blogs - just make sure to come back here after the break!
Thanks so much for the support of The Free Central over the almost past month!
Have a Merry and Joyous Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, and Wonderful New Year!

Refrigerator Dough Roll
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 package of dry yeast
3/4 cup of milk
1/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 egg - well beaten
3 1/2 cups of all purpose flour (I usually have to add about 1/2 cup more)
1. Dissolve 1 teaspoon sugar into the warm water. Sprinkle with yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes. Then stir the mixture with a fork.
2. Scald the milk, 1/4 cup sugar, salt, and butter (or margarine). Pour the mixture into a bowl and let cool to lukewarm.
3. Add the yeast mixture and a well-beaten egg to the cooled milk mixture.
4. Beat in 1 cup of flour.
5. Blend in the remaining flour to create a dough.
6. Place the dough into a large bowl, cover tightly with aluminum foil. Place a damp tea towel over the top and tie firmly in place.
7. Place the dough into the fridge for at least overnight. It can be stored in the fridge up to five days before using.
8. Remove dough from the fridge and knead it for aout five minutes on a lightly floured surface.
9. Shape the dough into buns or rolls. To make the crescent rolls shown in the photo, roll 1/2 the dough into a circle about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. Cut the circle into eight sections (like a pie). Then roll each wedge from the wide end to the narrow end. Place the crescent on a cookie sheet with the tip at the bottom so it won't unroll while baking.
10. Another option for "fancy buns" is to make golf ball size balls from the dough and place three or four of them together into a muffin tin. This will make buns that look somewhat like a three or four-leaf clover.
11. Cover with clean tea towel, let rise in a warm place for one and a half hours or until doubled in bulk.
12. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 minutes.
13. Makes about 24 rolls.
